The symptoms of Menopause are fairly wide-ranging, and it’s common for women not to know that a symptom is even related to menopause! Education around symptoms is difficult to find, and often confusing or contradictory.
In this article by the Guardian Newspaper in England, Diane Danzebrink talks about her experience after a hysterectomy and how she descended into depression due to not receiving treatment for her symptoms, which she didn’t realize were even treatable!
The experience led Diane to research the issues around menopause in more detail, and launch the #MakeMenopauseMatter campaign with three specific aims: to ensure mandatory menopause training for all UK Family Doctors, to provide menopause guidance in every workplace, and for menopause to be included in the new relationships and sex education (RSE) curriculum in UK secondary education.

Here in Canada, the issues are very similar. We have the same lack of education and easily-accessible treatment around the symptoms of menopause, and this means that many people are suffering in silence.
Managing Menopause
To help to bridge that gap, Dr. Davies has created a free video education course entitled “Managing Menopause”, in which he goes through symptoms and treatments in great detail. This sort of expert advice is simply not generally available and has been extremely beneficial to hundreds of women already!
Dr. Davies is amazing and his videos are excellent. All gals should watch them. Knowledge is power.
